The RDM-40 is a highly efficient n+1 redundancy and decoupling diode module designed for DIN rail power supply systems operating at 12 V, 24 V or 48 V DC output. It supports two operating configurations: 2 × 20 A for standard 1+1 redundant operation with two power supplies, or 1 × 40 A for decoupling a single higher-current supply. By integrating active decoupling diodes, the RDM-40 prevents reverse currents from flowing between parallel power supplies in the event of a secondary output fault, protecting system integrity and maintaining continuous load operation.
Unlike basic redundancy configurations using passive diodes, the RDM-40 uses highly efficient active ORing to minimise voltage drop and power dissipation across the decoupling stage, preserving the full output voltage and efficiency of the connected power supply. It is the recommended companion module for Premium PSU’s DPS-120, DPS-240, DPS-480 and DPX-960 DIN rail power supplies, enabling true 1+1 redundant or 1+n parallel operation with full protection against secondary short circuits — a scenario that basic parallel configurations cannot handle.
The RDM-40 mounts directly on standard TS35 DIN rail (EN 60715) alongside Premium PSU power supplies, requiring no additional cabinet space beyond the power supply footprint. Its compact DIN rail form factor, tool-less installation, and compatibility with the full Premium PSU DIN Rail portfolio make it the natural completion of any high-availability 24 VDC or 48 VDC industrial distribution system.
